A reminder grounded in store activity

Start with the right event

Connect a checkout event to an identified store customer. Anonymous carts, add-to-cart activity and identified checkouts are different; availability depends on integration events and permissions.

Offer a useful return path

Use a valid checkout link and a clear message. Start without a discount and offer help with products, shipping or completing the order.

Check whether a reminder is still needed

Include a purchase check before the reminder and later messages. Confirm order data is current and each path stops when its configured conditions are met.

Build a recovery flow you can test

Connect the store, the workflow and the conversation

  2. AploaiConditions, timing and permissions
  3. WhatsAppA relevant customer message

Illustrative workflow. Sending requires an active connection, consent and the required permissions.

  1. Check the connection

Verify store permissions for required events and customer data, and that the checkout link belongs to the recipient.

  2. Configure a flow

Choose a suitable automation-library draft and configure delays and purchase conditions. A template is an editable starting point, not an active flow.

  3. Prepare the channel

Use email with an active sender or an approved WhatsApp template, according to recipient eligibility. Validate variables and links.

  4. Test both outcomes

Test a customer who has not purchased and one who purchases during the wait. Activate only after verifying sends and stops in your store configuration.

Before activating store recovery

  • An active Shopify connection, suitable permissions and identified customers.
  • Available, current checkout and order events with a valid recovery link.
  • An active email sender or a suitable WhatsApp connection and template.
  • Channel consent and eligibility, stop conditions and a tested flow.

Measure orders alongside sending costs

Start with eligible recipients, sends and failures. Define an order-attribution window before comparing results and account for cancellations and refunds. Attributed revenue is not necessarily incremental revenue. Consider a comparison group when your activity volume allows meaningful measurement.

Review plans and costs

Before you start

Can every abandoned cart be recovered?

No. Messaging requires an identified customer, suitable contact details, channel eligibility and available checkout data. Anonymous add-to-cart activity does not guarantee a reachable recipient.

Should I start with email or WhatsApp?

Choose a channel with ready eligibility, data and connection. Email needs an active sender; WhatsApp also needs a suitable connection and template. Check costs and responses in a defined audience before expanding.

Do reminders stop after a purchase?

Configure and test purchase conditions in the flow. Stopping depends on the order reaching the system and matching the right customer. Test purchases during the wait and before later reminders.

Do I have to offer a coupon?

No. You can start with a checkout link and an offer to help. Coupons need configuration, permissions and validity checks; they are not a default for every flow.
